Safeguarding Children Level 3 -Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL)

Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) e-Learning course. This DSL online course is a level 3 safeguarding children course aimed at people working in Early Years Settings, particularly childminders and anyone that has been asked to take on the DSL position in an Early Years setting. This course includes some of the basic information found within in Levels 1 & 2 Safeguarding Children.
At the end of this DSL online course you will be able to:
identify what is meant by safeguarding and child abuse,
discuss the relevant legislation and guidance that provides the framework for safeguarding young people,
define the roles and responsibilities in regard to safeguarding children including the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL),
recognise how your own beliefs, experiences and attitudes might influence professional involvement in safeguarding work,
state how to respond to concerns about safety and welfare of a child/young person using your own settings child protection policy and procedures,
identify barriers for children reporting concerns,
discuss the importance of recording information accurately,
refer a child/family to the right people on the correct manner.
